Catherine is the Head of External Relations for EDSK.
Catherine comes from a journalism and charity background. She was a World Affairs producer for the BBC, covering both UK and global stories over two decades. She has a high standard of editorial judgement, dealing sensitively and diplomatically with politicians, business leaders and people of all backgrounds.
After leaving the BBC, she played a key role in establishing an education charity, disseminating complex academic research about education in an accessible way to journalists and via social media. She also managed a charity dedicated to improving social mobility and diversity in the media. By liaising with senior stakeholders and decision makers at this charity, she successfully set up a scheme to encourage sixth form students from disadvantaged areas to consider journalism as a future career. Catherine has also worked for an NGO overseeing financial and practical support for freelance journalists around the world as well as working with senior academics in an editorial capacity to shape their impact case studies for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.
Catherine is currently studying with the University of Oxford’s Department for Continuing Education.
